Rosalind Faram is a multidisciplinary artist based in the UK. Her work seeks to create heterotopias from which Otherness commands identification. Working out of the vulnerability of hidden disabilities and biographical trauma, the space between private and public Self is played in, through the use of real and imagined narratives. Faram employs painting, sculpture, photographs and video, writing, clothing design and ceramics in her work to demand entitlement, question relationships and challenge invisibility. Through opposing the traditional patriarchal art-culture model, she facilitates an expansive, fluid mode of creating; a partitive non-hierarchical aesthetic which embraces alterity.
