Rosalind Faram is a multidisciplinary artist based in the UK.

Honouring and transforming biographical trauma through the lens of neurodiversity, she works from the space of Self-created heterotopias where Otherness commands and directs with Love.

Employing painting, sculpture, photographs and video, writing, artist books, ceremonial clothing design and ceramics, Faram interrogates the socio-political roots of trauma and the de-politicization of depression.

She uses the visual language of modern contemporary popular culture, as well as arcane and esoteric imagery and art-historical references to  question, observe and comment upon relationships and responsibilities between the individual and family, community and environment. In so doing, she challenges invisibility, disempowerment, violence, apathy and isolation.

And further,  through opposing the traditional white-western-male patriarchal art-culture model; for example, the 'Masterpiece', the great novel, the symphony, the skyscraper, et cetera, Rosalind prefers to facilitate an expansive, fluid mode of creating; a partitive, non-hierarchical aesthetic which embraces alterity, challenges notions of taste and celebrates difference.

ANARCHY HOMEWARES

Anarchy Homewares is an optimistic anti-capitalist experiment set up in 2022 by Rosalind, which uses a barter system to trade goods and services; for example, hand-crafted unique ceramic objects for use in the home, hand-made clothing, painted posters & more in exchange for an agreed service or goods of equal and respectful worth. More information to come.
